Discover Xelflex®, our new bioactive ingredient for joint health

Publié le 14/04/2025

Over the past decade, the number of households with a dog older than 7 years of age has increased from 42% to 52%1.

Among signs of aging, osteoarthritis is a very common disease, that leads to chronic pain, loss of joint function and impaired mobility.

50% of pet owners worldwide2 are reportedly looking for joint-friendly products, hoping to improve their companion's daily life. Indeed, joint pain can prevent our pets from walking, playing, or climbing stairs. Their quality of life and interactions with the whole family can be significantly reduced.

Various complementary measures can help them: targeted food and/or complementary feed, weight management for lesser strain on joints, physiotherapy for range of motion and toned muscles, and finally pet’s direct environment arrangement to fit its reduced physical capacities. In the most severe cases, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, with known side effects, may become necessary.

Taking care of their joint health early on ensures they can move freely and live fully as long as possible!

Xelflex®, a new solution for joint health.

While searching for bioactive peptides in the mental health field, our researchers discovered a casein hydrolysate with joint health benefits. It was unpredicted yet possible, as several studies showed that consumption of dairy products was associated with lower low-grade systemic inflammation3,4,5.

Xelflex® showed in a preclinical study an inhibitory effect on inflammatory markers (cytokines), enabling a significative reduction of oedema.

Thus, Xelflex® can contribute to improve joint comfort.
